Tutorial By: Hammer[UMDGEN]

[Step 1:] Open the UMDGen utility after you download it from our UTiLiTiES section.

[Step 2:] In Directory View, drag your extracted UMD_DATA.BIN file and PSP_GAME folder
(with all of the other game files inside it) into the window as shown pictured below.

[Step 3:] Select File -> Import FileList... from the menu if you have a FileList.txt from the
original .iSO Image File. If you do not have one, skip right to [Step 5:] below.

[Step 4:] Click on your extracted PSP game .iSO File's FileList.txt (generated from iSOBuster)
and then click the Open button. This will sort the files in your UMD Image compilation
into the correct (original) order, however, this does NOT automatically correct the LBA
positions so if the PSP title utilizies tables with such checks in them you will have to
change them on the Layout View manually using the instructions in the UMDGen
ReadMe.txt file.

[Step 5:] Select View -> Volume from the UMDGen menu and enter your desired information.
Please NOTE that any/all of these fields can be left blank, however, at some point in
time they may be required based on if specific disc check routines are implemented.

[Step 6:] Select File -> Save As... from the UMDGen menu and move to [Step 7:] below.

[Step 7:] Now enter a File Name and press the Save button to save your PSP UMD .iSO Image.

[Step 8:] UMDGen will begin Creating ISO... for you, so watch the progress indicator display.

[Step 9:] When the .iSO Image Generation is complete, you will see the prompt below- Enjoy!

[Step 1:] Open the UMDGen utility after you download it from our UTiLiTiES section.

[Step 2:] In Directory View, drag your extracted UMD_DATA.BIN file and PSP_GAME folder
(with all of the other game files inside it) into the window as shown pictured below.

[Step 3:] If using some Windows Operating Systems, in the directories you may find a "thumbs.db" file.
Please delete this file by highlighting it and pressing the Delete key on your keyboard. If you
do not know what I am speaking of, it is shown in the picture below, and if you do not see any
in the directories don't worry (in most cases you won't) and skip directly to [Step 4:] below.

[Step 4:] Take notice of the current Total Size in the lower right of the UMDGen screen,
and you will see it is currently 147.79 MB in size which is the UMD iSO size.

Left Click the + to the left of PSP_GAME under Root and then Left Click SYSDIR,
and then highlight the folder UPDATE and press the Delete key on your keyboard
to remove the folder and its contents from your UMD image. As you can see the size
is now 134.54 MB as pictured in the screen capture below. This is good as we are on
the right track, but we still must remove more to make this fit on the 128 MB stick
(which is 121 MB formatted). Remember we also want to save room for gamesaves...
so now lets see what else we can remove to bring down the total UMD iSO image size.

[Step 5:] Now download the PSP Blank PMF File file from our UTiLiTiES section, and put it
somewhere where you can get to it easy, as you will need it in a couple of minutes.

Now Left Click the + next to USRDIR and then highlight movie and you should see
a bunch of files with the .pmf extension. If you notice the file size you can make the
game fit on the 128 MB Memory Stick by only deleting the file entry.pmf. Always try
to delete as few files as possible and make sure they are the least important files to
the game. This is so you have a decent and playable rip when you are done. :)

Ok, now highlight entry.pmf file and press the Delete key on your keyboard. Now you
need the PSP Blank PMF File file you downloaded earlier. Rename the file to entry.pmf
so the game reads that file in the place of the original pmf you deleted. YOU MUST
MAKE SURE IT IS NAMED THE SAME AS THE FILE THAT IT IS TAKING THE PLACE OF!!
Drag the blank entry.pmf file into the movie directory, noting the size is now 116.42 MB.

Congratulations! The game will now fit onto a 128 MB Memory Stick, and still leave
room for your PSP game saves too! Now to finish up this UMD Rip iSO...

[Step 6:] Now click on View and go to Volume. For this particular PSP rip, these fields can be
filled with whatever you choose or even left blank, however, in the future some game
anti-piracy security may require you to input specific information in these fields, but
for now lets look at an example of information that can be entered, as shown below:

[Step 7:] Now you are ready to build your iSO. Go to File and then Save As and then save it
as a name of your choosing. Now click Save and UMDGen will start to build your iSO
image file as illustrated in the second picture below. Finally, click the OK button.

[Step 8:] Congratulations! Your PSP UMD Rip of Coded Arms is done! Now follow the directions
of your favorite iSO booting program and enjoy your first PSP UMD Rip iSO image!

What Was Actually Ripped? The entry.pmf video file was ripped, but it is not an important video
and does not affect your play in any way. It is always important to be aware of what you are ripping,
and it is important to take care in your rips by taking time to make sure you keep it as close to the
original as possible. Next the UPDATE files were ripped. These aren't important, it just updates your
firmware to v1.50 from v1.00 if you don't already have v1.50 and need this update then you can find
the upgrade elsewhere, but for the most part this is a useless folder and is not necessary because
it just takes up space. Other than that, nothing is ripped and everything else is completely in-tact!
